It started off with my mother, who was a school teacher and used to have a tea break at around three thirty every afternoon. Being a meticulous taurean, and having studied in an 'angrej' convent, the three thirty tea became a part of her system.
This meant that even when she was at home on weekends, tea would be made at three thirty. We could set our clock with the afternoon tea. The aroma of tea being made in the kitchen meant that the 'train was about to arrive at the station', on time, as it used to during the 'british' days.
So many years have passed and that trait has just got imbibed by my body system. At three fifteen the pangs start and the body either starts moving towards the kitchen to make tea or then requests the servant to get it prepared.
The ritual has to continue. The tradition has to be honoured. The 'three-thirty' tea has to be served and enjoyed.
There is no point of invoking the fury of the tea-goddess. Rain or Shine, when its time for tea...the body has to obey :)
