I have this thing for Sofas. Whenever I visit a restaurant, the decision to eat there is decided by the availability of a sofa. No Sofa, No Eating.
What started as a minor preference for comfortable seating has actually become a major passion for me.
I just will not sit down in a place, unless the seating is comfortable and spongy enough. My 'rear' demands VIP treatment. No wooden planks for me and no 'adjustments' for me.
The food, taste, rate, variety really are all secondary. If I have to eat, then I want to feel good before I even order. :)
I really dont understand why people choose to sit on seats which rest just half of their bottoms. Cmmon its about eating and enjoying your food. Why choose to balance your entire body on four square inches of flat wood.
McDonalds have lost a customer for life. I just never go there. Cafe Coffee Day at Marine Drive is my favourite, as long as the Sofa is available there...:)
For a person who does not remember birthdays, I actually remember restaurant just by the presence or absense of my favourite indulgence :). Food comes later. :)

love your blogs, dblacksmith - they are very candid and to the point; yes, I love restaurants which have good comfy seats - and free newspapers to read while you are there, let's not forget!

yes dear...nice point, but the cushioned chairs need to be wide berth, else one cannot sit crosslegged in them. i love to move around my legs and also feel my hands on the cushion. velvetty touch does wonders to me... :)

:) My dear, sofas no doubt are comfortable, but so can be cushioned chairs. What mattersprecisely is the per entage of your rear that is able to fit on them. Hope you would enjoy all your fav restaurants, inclduing the ones without any seatig arrangement.
Cheers
